Doing blepharoplasty, Dr. Peter Krzywicki, January 2018.

With the excision and the removal, or the repositioning (or both) of excess tissues, such as skin and adipocyte fat, and the reinforcement of the corresponding muscle and tendon tissues, the blepharoplasty procedure resolves functional and cosmetic problems of the periorbital, which is the area from the eyebrow to the upper portion of the cheek. And the treatment we do helps removes aesthetic discomfort or restricts the field of view.

Blepharoplasty - The preparation

During the initial consultation, we examine the condition and potential of the skin, discuss the patient's expectations and determine the possibilities of their implementation. Before the consultation, we will commission a few blood tests that will confirm good health and the ability to safely perform the procedure.

Laser Eyelid Surgery advantages

The use of a modern laser allows us to significantly improve healing and improve the comfort of patients for 2-3 weeks after the procedure. The laser is used to cut the skin and then coagulate the blood vessels in treatment area. This is why laser bluff flare is characterized by much smaller bleeding. Reduced bleeding also means less swelling and less bruising after procedure, which promotes faster and better healing.

Eyelid Surgery stages, anaesthesia

We make Bleafaroplastics using the CO2 laser to which we cut, and then we coagulate the treatment area. The procedure consists of several stages - planning, anaesthesia, cutting and suturing. An important issue is the proper planning of the outline for skin incision so as to obtain the expected aesthetic effect. Cutting tissue is relatively fast and little complicated. Usually the longest stage is suturing the skin. We assume intradermal, non-transdermal seams. Their task is to firmly join the skin, minimize visibility and leave a good adhesion with the smallest possible scar. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia with an optional sedation effect. The total time is about 1,5 hour for upper and 2 hours for lower eyelids.

Post-operative care

The stitches are non-resorbable and should be removed after 7-10 days from the surgery. It takes 5 minutes and require a nurse to do it in a clean room. We will issue a prescription for ointments to be applied after treatment - an antibiotic for first 10 days, then a special ointment accelerating healing and reducing scars, which should be used after removing the seams. Control visits after the procedure are free.
